EAGLES ADD TO STAFF

The Powassan Eagles are proud to announce that they have hired some new additions to their staff. Kevin Totten has been tabbed as the Eagle’s assistant coach and director of marketing. Kevin Hails from Michigan and is currently finishing up his bachelor’s degree at Eastern Michigan University, where he was also a member of the men’s ice hockey team. Team president Andy Palfrey went on to say, “We are very pleased to bring on Kevin for next season, not only does he have very good hockey knowledge, but strong business sense as well.” Kevin coached last season with the Plymouth Stingrays midget program.
The Eagles are also proud to say that they have brought John Thomson on board as the team’s trainer for next season. John has spent the last 30 years int he Canadian military as a medical supervisor. He has been a part of many sports teams, as the on-site medic. Serving in Cyprus, giving aid to those in need at Hurricane Katrina and two tours of Afghanistan have been some of the highlights of his 30 year military career. John loves the benefits of being physically fit and is presently training to qualify for the Boston Marathon this coming April. “John has had a tremendous amount of experience in his field and we are very lucky to have his services for next year”, stated general manager Michal Kolarik.
The Eagleshave also added Brandon Contratto to the team’s scouting staff for next year. Brandon recently just finished his last season at the University of Michigan –Dearborn. He also spent time competing for team USA at the world university games and is currently talking to numerous professional clubs in Europe.“Brandon has done a tremendous job recruiting player’s for our club, we are glad to have him as a full time member of our staff for the upcoming year.” Stated head coach Gary Astalos.
The Eagles staff is busy at work finalizing the team’s roster for the 2012-2013 season. The Eagles will be holding a camp September 1st and 2nd for local Canadian players to fill the final spots for the upcoming year. “We are really looking forward to putting a solid line-up on the ice for our fans.The local support has been nothing short of excellence and we are very happy to play for the city of Powassan.” Stated head coach Gary Astalos.
