The Powassan Eagles season ended as the eagles lost to the Temiscaming Titans in the second round of the GMHL playoffs. The Eagles finished their inagural regular season with a record of 25-13-4 and a playoff record of 3-3. "I was very happy with our team's first season of junior "A" hockey, for our first season, we accomplished a lot as a club." stated General Manager Michal Kolarik. The Eagles were very active in the community during their first season as well helping out with local tournaments, fundraisers, team apperances, local hockey skates and more. "I was very happy with how involved we were with the community and plan to be even more involved next season. Our fans were amazing this year as we had close to 500 fans at our last game at the sportsplex, we are really looking forward to next season." Stated team president Andy Palfrey. The Eagles are also happy with the player advancement that has happened throughout the season. Head coach Gary Astalos went on to say, "Some of our goals as an organization are create a great experience for our players, we want to develop these players and move them onto higher levels. We are currently talking to teams from the USHL, NAHL, NOJHL, NCAA, and ACHA about our players; we are hoping to have a very long alumni list next season. The future looks very bright for many of our players." The Eagles will begin preparing for next season immediately as they are currently scouting local players for next season and they will also be attending the Michigan Pre Draft Showcase (www.michiganpredraft.com) April 19-21 in Michigan. "Overall, we had a very succesful first season as we had a great group of guys play for our club this year, I am looking forward to next season." Kevin Totten; assistant coach.
